I've just finished with my second-to-last year of high school, studying Maths, English, Music, Japanese, and Computer Science. I'm hoping to study CS after I leave school and end up working in the climate or conservation field.
I'm continuing to throw myself at my hobbies inside and outside of school - especially music. I'm playing clarinet in a number a number of school groups, and was fortunate to perform in Australia earlier this year. Picking up the piano again. I want to play more badminton, especially as it's the only form of regular exercise I get. Playing a communist half-orc and self-deluded goblin in DnD campaigns with my friends.
I found out about Hack Club at the start of this year, and it's something I've been looking for for years but never found. A community of like-minded teenagers who share a love of technology, curiosity about how the world works, and a desire to change it for the better? Sign me up this instant. I'm hoping to go to their immersive game jam, Overglade, in February next year.
I'm feeling a sort of reckless optimism in regard to my future - I might not have it all figured out yet, but I have confidence in my future self and I believe that I'll work it out eventually. It's much nicer than the anxiety I felt when first going into high school (4 years ago!?). Currently thinking about how to best equip myself for 2026 and beyond.
